The History behind Eagle Auto Parts
The Eagle brand was a product introduced by the American Motors Corporation (AMC) back in the late 1970s. From 1979 through 1987, AMC produced several models under the Eagle name, including a coupe, sedan, and wagon. The AMC Concord and Spirit were very similar in design as well. Primary production was then shifted for less than a year to the Chrysler Corporation and finally settled from 1988 through 1998 with the Jeep Corporation.
The advantage of the brand was that it was one of the first true permanent, all-wheel drive passenger-car options on the market. It also came with a number of competitive engine platforms, including the 2.5-liter GM Iron Duke 14 and the beefy six-cylinder, 4.2-liter AMC 16.
Geared toward outdoorsy types and adventurers, Eagle cars found minor success with the Jeep Corporation but died out at the end of the 1990s without much fanfare. Today, you can still buy engine and other component parts for your vehicle from web-based services.
